INTERPOL CLEARLY STATED THIS IS A CASE OF POLITICAL PERSECUTION

BANJA LUKA, April 30 (SRNA) – The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that by rejecting the issuance of an international warrant against him, Interpol has clearly signaled that this is a case of political persecution.
"As far as I'm concerned, I can be satisfied, because the message is that this is political persecution — something we've been saying from the very beginning. I can also be satisfied with the fact that many countries have not accepted such a move," the President of Republika Srpska emphasized. He pointed out that Interpol is the only organization in the world focused on the prosecution of general, criminal offenders — not political cases — and that this should be the final word if such a law enforcement agency deems the matter political. "However, for those in Sarajevo, this is not the final word," Dodik said in an interview with ATV, adding that political Sarajevo will now likely try to find a new way to keep the issue alive. Dodik emphasized that it wasn’t enough for political Sarajevo when Interpol initially indicated the same position, and that they continued to push their political agenda. "It was enough the first time when Interpol stated this wasn't a matter of criminal activity, but political persecution — and that it should be dropped. But they pushed on. Now, after this, I don’t know what else they could do," Dodik said. He added that, once again, it was clearly stated that this is politically motivated and has no legal basis.
