AMERICAN INVESTIGATORS SHOULD ALSO COME TO SARAJEVO TO INVESTIGATE CRIMES AGAINST SERBS

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, JULY 20 /SRNA/ - Coordinator of veterans' organizations of the Sarajevo-Romanija region, Goran Šehovac, welcomed the arrival of American investigators in Derventa and called on them to come to Sarajevo, where there were more than 100 Muslim-run camps for Serbs.

"I am surprised by the arrival of American investigators to take statements regarding crimes against Serbs during the past war. I believe this could have been done earlier, but it is never too late," Šehovac told SRNA. He stressed that time is taking its toll and that with each passing day the number of Serb survivors who were tortured in camps during the war in territories controlled by Muslim-Croat forces is decreasing, meaning that the full truth will never be known. "I would recommend that the American investigators also come to Sarajevo, a centre of war crimes, and question witnesses about the suffering of Serbs in this city," Šehovac said, adding that some of the perpetrators of those crimes are certainly walking freely in America as well. Recalling that crimes against Serbs in Sarajevo and the surrounding area have remained unpunished, Šehovac concluded that reconciliation among the peoples of BiH is impossible without justice and the punishment of perpetrators.
