GRAORAC: KOZARA IS SERBIAN TOMB AND IT MUSTN'T BE SUBJECT OF DUBIOUS TRADE
BANJA LUKA, JULY 21 /SRNA/ - The President of the Republika Srpska Organization of Families of Captured and Killed Soldiers and Missing Civilians Isidora Graorac told SRNA that at Kozara, one of the largest Serbian graves, square meters and real estate are not sold, but that Kozara saves face of its people and graves of its ancestors.
"Kozara is a sacred road walked by our ancestors, who walk into their own death in order for us, their descendants, to live in freedom. Families who have been searching for even a single bone of their loved ones for decades cannot and will not calmly watch as the heart of our freedom is turned into an object of dubious trade," said Graorac, commenting on the letter of a company, whose name is associated with a well-known business group from Arab countries, in which it expresses interest in buying the Monument Hotel in Mrakovica. Recalling that on Kozara, around 23,000 children were taken from their mothers' hands to camps, as well as tens of thousands of our ancestors, Graorac emphasized that every inch of this mountain is soaked in the blood of the Serbian weaklings and no one has the right to turn that blood into private profit of dubious origin. "That is why we don't allow those who don't feel the pain of the Serbian mother and the sadness of the black scarf to do business tomorrow on the land where our biggest wounds are buried. Kozara must remain in the hands of those who come to it with a lit candle, not those who come with a calculator and hidden intentions," she pointed out. Graorac said that free Republika Srpska is the endowment of our loved ones, and Kozara is the foundation of that endowment, which must not be shaken by any "investor" from Sarajevo. "If we allow them to take the Monument from us today, tomorrow they will also take away the memory of our missing soldiers and civilians. That is why our message is clear: do not touch the shrine of Kozara, because there are the bones of those who obliged us to keep an eternal watch," she said. Graorac noted that institutions must react because the defense of Kozara today is the same as the defense of the hearth in the nineties, indicating that there is no economic justification that can be more important than the peace and dignity of the families who gave everything they had for Serbia, especially the most sacred - life.
