NEARLY 200,000 PEOPLE ORDERED TO EVACUATE
TOKYO, JULY 28 /SRNA/ - Nearly 200,000 people in Japan have been ordered to evacuate due to an earthquake in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japanese media reported.
Around 39,200 residents of Nagasaki Prefecture were ordered to evacuate, while 157,700 people in Kumamoto Prefecture received the same instructions, Fuji TV reported. A total of 47,000 households in the area are without electricity. A magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck the area of Kumamoto Prefecture on the island of Kyushu in southwestern Japan, followed by a magnitude 6.1 tremor. A tsunami warning has been issued for the coasts of Ariake Bay and Yatsushiro Bay. At the same time, at least one person has been killed and more than 100 injured after dozens of people were trapped in a shopping centre in Japan following a powerful earthquake that brought down buildings and caused fires.
