CVIJANOVIĆ: BiH JUDICIARY REWARDING ATROCITIES AGAINST SERB CHILDREN
SARAJEVO, AUGUST 4 /SRNA/ – Serb BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović says there is no justification for granting prison leave privileges to Elfeta Veseli, as that fact demonstrates that BiH and its judiciary have a system that rewards atrocities committed against innocent Serb children.
Cvijanović said she was appalled to learn that Elfeta Veseli, who was finally convicted of the murder of boy Slobodan Stojanović, has been granted prison leave privileges since 2024. "I am also appalled by the fact that those who were obliged to administer justice enabled the murderer of a child to enjoy any kind of privileges," Cvijanović posted on X. Veseli, according to Cvijanović, has done nothing to deserve such treatment, given the brutality of the crime for which she is already serving unjustifiably lenient sentence. "Such a decision represents a grave insult to the family of her innocent victim, as well as to the Serb people in general," Cvijanović said. She stressed that it has long been evident that there is no justice for Serb victims and that most crimes committed against Serbs have remained unpunished. "This disgraceful action by the competent institutions in the FBiH shows that it is not enough that these crimes have gone unpunished, but that BiH and its judiciary evidently have a system of rewarding atrocities committed against innocent Serb children," Cvijanović said. The Tuzla Penitentiary confirmed to SRNA that minster woman Elfeta Veseli, the murderer of boy Slobodan Stojanović, has been using prison leave privileges since September 2024. Elfeta Veseli was initially sentenced by the Court of BiH to ten years in prison for the brutal murder of Slobodan Stojanović. The Appellate Division of the same court later increased the sentence to 13 years' imprisonment for the war crime against the civilian population. She has been in custody since September 2016, and her regular sentence is due to expire in 2029.
