GLIŠIĆ: CROATIA'S HUMILIATION OF MONTENEGRO ON ITS PATH TO THE EU SHOULD SERVE AS A LESSON TO SERBIA AND SRPSKA

BELGRADE, OCTOBER 17 /SRNA/ - Lawyer and founder of the People's Network Vladan Glišić told SRNA that Croatia's blackmailing attitude toward Montenegro and the conditions Zagreb has imposed on the country for EU membership should serve as a lesson to Serbia and Republika Srpska on what they should do and how they should behave to avoid finding themselves in such a humiliating position.

Noting that Croatia would not be able to act so arrogantly without Brussels' protection, Glišić believes that Montenegro, Serbia, and all those seeking EU membership must be aware that they will be treated as second-class members. In the event that there is someone who, like Croatia, is interested in creating problems, Glišić said that these countries must know that they will find themselves on the losing and humiliated side. "Croatia, which has never come to terms with its genocidal crimes from World War II and merely repeated them during the wars of the 1990s, is now posing as a victor and someone who is `on the right side of history,` when it is nothing more than an extended arm of the Brussels bureaucracy," Glišić said. He stressed that if there were anyone in Brussels who respected European and universal human values, Croatia would be placed under supervision and would have to undergo denazification for everything it is doing to Serbs within its own borders. Glišić believes that no country that embarks on the path to EU membership can expect a happy outcome, especially one that upholds Serbian traditions, because Serbs have for centuries fought against the imperialist conduct of the political West, primarily Western Europe, which has transformed itself into the EU. "The way Montenegro is being put through the wringer and humiliated is simply a lesson for Serbia and Republika Srpska to do everything possible to avoid heading toward Europe and the EU, and to wait for other geopolitical and geostrategic integrations that will be more in keeping with human rights, human civilization and the values that Serbs have stood for since their very beginnings," Glišić stressed. He points out that Croatia is, among other things, taking revenge on Montenegro for the Declaration on the Genocide Against the Serb People in the Independent State of Croatia /NDH/, which was adopted by the Montenegrin Parliament, but says that Croats are primarily targeting the country because of what it has represented throughout its history. "They are taking revenge on it for everything it has done, including becoming a free country of the Serb people because it did not want to live under Turkish rule," Glišić said. He added that the path Montenegro is now taking, charted by the Montenegrin political class and some Serbs from Montenegro, amounts to a denial of everything on which the country was founded, as a refusal to come to terms with the defeat and destruction of their state and their very existence in these territories. "Montenegro endured throughout history and forged its own statehood, which was founded above all on Serbian traditions. Now Croatia, which is the complete opposite, having emerged as a servile entity built on fratricide and service to all colonial empires, is trying to humiliate Montenegro to the utmost," Glišić said. He pointed out that it was a great misfortune that Montenegro's current authorities either failed to see this or were even participating in what he described as Zagreb's criminal move. Croatia has officially presented Montenegro with eight conditions for EU membership. According to a document Zagreb sent to EU member states, these include "compensation for detainees held at the Morinj camp near Kotor and the preservation of the memorial plaque at the site".
