SRPSKA SHOWED CAPACITY OF DEMOCRATIC DECISION-MAKING
SARAJEVO, MARCH 29 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska has once again demonstrated its ability to make decisions in a democratic manner and in accordance with the Constitution, deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac told SRNA.
Košarac said that the political responsibility of the leadership of Republika Srpska is visible to discuss current political topics and security challenges in the most important institution of Srpska, as well as that all solutions should be the result of domestic agreement and the product of domestic policies. "This also applies to the electoral legislation of Srpska, in which domestic political forces, both the government and the opposition, should participate. The fact that for the draft electoral law of Srpska a public debate will be organized so that all interested parties can make comments and suggestions is the best evidence of the democratic nature of the process," Košarac said. He pointed out that Republika Srpska has electoral sovereignty, that it is a separate electoral unit and that it can conduct elections in the manner provided by law. Košarac noted that any imposition of solutions will not improve political relations in BiH, nor will it bring good to anyone, but he also pointed out that, unfortunately, part of the political structure in the Federation of BiH /FBiH/ is being put to the function of solutions imposed by foreigners, which is totally unacceptable for Srpska. "We call for respect for the Constitution and the Dayton structure, according to which Bosnia and Herzegovina is composed of two entities and three constituent peoples. We are partners for an internal agreement without the interference of foreigners," Košarac said. Košarac assessed that the "black spot" at yesterday's session of the National Assembly was the opposition's lack of political courage to, together with the ruling coalition, reject the imposed solutions of the illegitimate Christian Schmidt, as well as to publicly oppose the malignant influence of American ambassador Michael Murphy, which is directed against Srpska and interests of the Serb people. "Ultimately, they did not vote for the proposed conclusions, thus confirming that they are in advance of Schmidt and Murphy. Obviously, this duo is incomparably more important to them than the Serb people. And it is even more obvious that the biggest problem of the opposition, as well as Schmidt and Murphy, is the election will of the citizens of Srpska who stand by President Dodik's policy," stated Košarac. The National Assembly of Republika Srpska adopted tonight the Draft Election Law, which stipulates that elections for authorities in Republika Srpska will be conducted by the Republic Electoral Commission, that is, city and municipal election commissions and polling committees appointed by competent authorities of Republika Srpska. The National Assembly of Republika Srpska also adopted conclusions that together with the competent institutions and bodies of Republika Srpska, they will take the necessary measures to protect the rights and freedoms of citizens and neutralize the consequences of unconstitutional actions on the territory of Republika Srpska.
