NAMES OF LIVING PEOPLE REGISTERED WITH CIPS INSCRIBED IN MEMORIAL CENTER

SREBRENICA, MAY 23 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik said today that the names of living people who are listed in the special records of Citizens Identification Protection System /CIPS/ in BiH are inscribed on gravestones in the Memorial Center in Potočari.

At a press conference in Srebrenica, Dodik showed a list from CIPS containing /the names of/ 87 individuals who are alive, yet their names are cited as victims of the Srebrenica crime. "This is a document from CIPS, not from the Office of the President of Srpska," Dodik said. He added that CIPS is not a body of Republika Srpska, but a joint institution at the level of BiH. "Imagine how they rushed to gather as many names as possible to reach the predetermined number. This casts doubt on all of this," said Dodik. He expressed reverence for all the victims and emphasized that for him, the tragic death of any human being – whether Bosniak, Serb, Croat, or anyone else – is equally tragic. "Republika Srpska did not protect those who committed crimes, regardless of which institute or court sought them, including those in The Hague or Sarajevo. Republika Srpska did not hide these people when they were sought by prosecutors and other investigative bodies," Dodik said. The President of Srpska pointed out that they treated Serbian victims very irresponsibly and that there is no recorded case of anyone in high positions being held accountable for crimes against Serbs, despite the deaths of 34,000 civilians and soldiers in Republika Srpska during the Bosnian civil war.
