STEVANDIĆ: WE WILL RESPOND APPROPRIATELY, SRPSKA WILL PREVAIL

BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 5 /SRNA/ –Republika Srpska National Assembly President Nenad Stevandić says the current situation will be responded appropriately, and that those celebrating the judgment against Srpska’s institutions and its legitimately elected leaders will be disappointed.

"There is no situation in which Republika Srpska will not prevail whether under imposed or regular conditions. Republika Srpska will win. All those who thought they could, by violating rights and attempting to eliminate the President of the Republic, Milorad Dodik, bring about a change of system and the will of the people — will be disappointed. It won’t happen," Stevandić told SRNA. Regarding a potential special session of the National Assembly, Stevandić said that the SNSD caucus has the capacity to convene it, but he believes other deputies will also support such an initiative. "We cannot remain silent or without a position, especially one grounded in previous decisions," Stevandić noted. Concerning the government of national unity, one of the conclusions and initiatives of the SNSD Main Committee, Stevandić called it a mature move. "This isn't something to be evaluated on a daily or monthly basis. Here the long-term interest of Republika Srpska, the stability of its institutions, its rights under the Dayton, and the affirmation of a system in which we protect our property and institutions, are being assessed," said Stevandić, who is also the leader of United Srpska. He expressed hope that everyone would understand it, as it concerns Republika Srpska and the survival of its institutions. "Especially those who reacted within five minutes with rather incoherent comments," Stevandić concluded.
