CVIJANOVIĆ: KONAKOVIĆ CONSISTENTLY CONFIRMS THAT THE CASE AND JUDGMENT AGAINST PRESIDENT DODIK ARE POLITICALLY MOTIVATED

EAST SARAJEVO, AUGUST 5 /SRNA/ – The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović told SRNA that it is entertaining to watch Elmedin Konaković, the foreign minister in the Council of Ministers, still not understanding anything, as evidenced by his latest mock bravado.

Asked to comment on Konaković's recent statement in which he publicly admitted that they traveled the world to ensure that President Dodik is finally where he has long belonged, Cvijanović responded that "Konaković is persistently confirming what we in Republika Srpska have been saying all along, that both the shameful proceedings and the shameful judgments against the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik are politically motivated". "First, he put pressure on the Court and threatened with protests in the event of an acquittal. Now he is publicly boasting that President Dodik is where he belongs to, meaning convicted, supposedly thanks to his own lobbying around the world. That has nothing to do with the Constitution, the law, or the rule of law, but everything to do with a politically instrumentalized judiciary, which acts according to the will of an unappointed foreigner, not according to the law," Cvijanović emphasized. She added that she is unsure whether Konaković is doing this unconsciously, out of ignorance, or simply for self-promotion; in any case, his words only confirm the positions of Srpska officials and vividly illustrate what she described as the absurdity of such a judiciary and of the state itself.
